STOP PUTTING THAT !@?#!@$ My Ebooks FOLDER ON MY COMPUTER!

Well, when Windows XP first came with my laptop 4 years ago, I actually uninstalled it and installeD Windows 2000 because XP kept creating the My Documents folder structure without my wanting it to.  Eventually i decided the multimedia capabilities of XP were worth a few annoying directories being created and I partially accepted though did not affectionately embrace the whole "My Documents" system.  And with the exception of the continuous appearance of the My Ebooks folder within said system, we got along okay.

At last, I have finally found someone who knew exactly how to solve the problem!  To see the original article, and learn how to eliminate the entire "My Documents" system, go to http://www.gulbransen.net/preaching/archives/000108.html

But to just get rid of the "My Ebooks" problem:  This folder is created by Adobe Acrobat, and no, there is no setting or option within the program to disable it, but it is created by a plug-in.  Eliminate the plug-in, and the problem goes away.  Go to the Acrobat installation directory (Usually C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat x.x\ and perform an "All Files and Folders" search for "ebook" (sans quotes).  In the list, you will find (at the top probably) "ebook.api"  Either delete or rename that file to whatever you feel like (I called mine "ebook.api.renamed to stop the damn thing creating the my ebooks directory") and the problem is over.  The full path if your search function isn't working, is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat x.x\Acrobat\plug-ins\ebook.api

Freedom at last!
