Three Words to Live By...
It Just Doesn't Matter That Much.
Some of you might be noticing that the Three Words to Live By, are in fact not three words. If you are hung up by this, you have missed the point entirely and probably have no hope of reform, you can stop reading now and go Christmas shopping at Walmart, abstract thought seems to be in short supply in their customers anyway.
If however you noticed that the Three Words to Live By (It Just Doesn't Matter That Much) easily condense down to "It Doesn't Matter" without losing much meaning, then you may be able to deduce why they are called the Three Words to Live By, and may read on:
Have you ever been confronted by a screeching harpy in a parking lot because your 2 year old just happened to open your car door a little too vigorously and it made contact with the door of the previously mentioned harpy, just enough to make a mark (not a scratch, or a dent) about as big as the asterisk symbol on your keyboard?
Have you ever fought over lane position with a woman on the freeway who for some reason thinks that her "Baby on Board" placard in her back window entitles her to squeeze into any space she wants on the road (usually in front of everybody else) then claim YOU were endangering HER CHILD?
Have you ever had a law enforcement officer sit idly by, watching you enter a potentially dangerous situation, completely aware by your actions that you were unaware of the situation, then give you a ticket AFTER THE FACT, claiming it was meant to be a LEARNING EXPERIENCE for you?
Have you ever had to explain yourself multiple times for using the term "reasonably righteous" when all you meant was "a good person"?
All of these situations truly do not matter, and if both participants in these situations could realize this, they both probably would have been much happier.
In life, you have to decide what really matters and what does not, the truth is, most of what we fuss and fester over is about as important as the sun turning into a white dwarf 5 BILLION years from now. Think of it, if you could train yourself to stop clobbering yourself (and other people) over all that filler junk that doesn't make any difference, wouldn't you (and all those other people) be a lot more pleasant and happy?
